Sheep CRC Extension Application

The Commonwealth Department of Industry has just informed us that the Sheep CRC has been successful in its extension application, with $15.5 million to be provided to support its activities from 2014 through to 2019.

This is great news for the sheep industry and would not have happened without the commitment of all organisations to work together to deliver the ambitious goals defined in the application.

The next step will be to get all Participants together to confirm work programs and budgets as well as reviewing and agreeing to details of the Participants Agreement (i.e. the formal agreement of how we manage the CRC and the IP that is created over the next five years).

We have made arrangements for a meeting at the Sydney Airport Stamford Hotel on 1 and 2 April.  On 1 April all Participants will be involved in finalising the work program and budgets.  The second day (2 April) will be for those organisations that have elected to sign up as “Essential Participants” and will focus on details of the Participants Agreement and the Constitution.   The organisations joining as “Other Participants” will not need to stay on for the meetings on 2 April.

“Other Participants” will have an opportunity to review details of the agreement signed as part of the process of committing to the application process.  This process can be completed after the planning meeting on 1 April.

Further details about these meetings will be sent to you soon.

We look forward to working with you during the next five years and to delivering some really transformational improvements to the Australian sheep industry.
