The Sheep CRC is holding a special event in Melbourne in conjunction with AWIS Wool Week, at which the CRC will be presenting an update on the new Wool ComfortMeter and HandleMeter.

The Sheep CRC, with AWTA, is conducting a commercial Pilot Trial to introduce these ground-breaking measurement systems to knitters, spinners and retailers as a preparatory step for full commercialisation.  The Pilot Trial has confirmed there is significant interest in being able to objectively measure for comfort and hand feel to underpin quality and the wearer’s positive experience.

We have been successful in attracting heavyweight Pilot Trial partners, including retailers, brands and manufacturers from Australia and overseas.

At the Wool Week event, you will be able to hear first-hand from an international knitter and an iconic global retailer. They will provide their perspectives on how the Wool ComfortMeter and HandleMeter are likely to help their businesses, and thereby build demand for Merino wool, especially the finer microns that are used in lightweight, next-to-skin wool knitwear.  You will also be able to see the two instruments in action.

Date:     Thursday 5 September

Time:     2.30 to 5.30pm

Venue:   Intercontinental Hotel, The Rialto, 495 Collins Street, Melbourne
