Sheep industry service providers sharpen genetic skills

Wednesday 20th of June 2012

Sheep industry consultants are sharpening their skills in genetic selection as producers increasingly seek authoritative advice on how to improve the genetic make-up of their flock. A group of 18 sheep industry service providers recently participated in a training workshop conducted by Sheep Genetics and the Sheep CRC. Sheep Genetics is responsible for LAMBPLAN and MERINOSELECT and the delivery of objective breeding tools such as Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBVs), whilst the CRC is providing training support to increase the uptake of the these important tools within industry.
