Sheep industry maps out future research priorities

Wednesday 6th of March 2013

Detailed plans are being compiled for future sheep industry research priorities as part of an application to the Federal Government to build on achievements of the Sheep CRC and extend the program for another five years.

The Cooperative Research Centre for Sheep Industry Innovation (Sheep CRC) began in July 2007 and runs until June 2014. Operating as part of the Federal Department of Industry Innovation Science Research and Tertiary Education’s CRC program, the Sheep CRC is a collaboration of industry, government and the commercial sector.

Its purpose has been to increase productivity and profitability of the industry through new technologies for adoption by both the meat and wool supply chains.
