Sheep Genetics and the Sheep CRC will be hosting a Genetics Service Provider Training Workshop in Melbourne on May 5, 6 and 7 this year. This workshop will combine the annual Service Provider Training Workshop run by Sheep Genetics and the Sheep CRC’s Genomic Service Provider workshop. This email is to give you advance notice and to get the dates into your diaries.
We encourage service providers who have attended previously to come along and receive the latest information from our R&D programs. We also welcome service providers who have not participated previously to come along.
Will be a refresher on the principles of genetic gain and calculation of breeding values.
Will provide an update on the latest updates to the LAMBPLAN and MERINOSELECT analyses, new tools and activities at the CRC, AGBU and Sheep Genetics.
We will be seeking Expressions of Interest from Service Providers to remain for an additional day and receive training in the use of MATESEL, which is soon to be released under licence through the Sheep Genetics website. This third day is best suited to service providers who are actively involved in developing breeding programs with clients.
The workshop will start late morning on the 5th and finish early afternoon on the 7th to allow for your travel time.
Further details will follow regarding agendas, registration etc.
In the meantime could you please email Lu Hogan at Sheep CRC firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending.
