Learning how to buy better rams at Queensland RamSelect

Upcoming RamSelect workshops to be held across Queensland will develop the skills of commercial producers to accurately and confidently select rams to meet their breeding objective and maximise their sheep enterprise return.

The one-day RamSelect workshops will include presentations from a combination of breeding specialists including: Allan Casey, NSW DPI; David Counsell, sheep producer and consultant from Barcaldine; Jim Meckiff, NSW DPI; Nicole Sallur, QLD DAFF; and Alex Stirton, QLD DAFF.

 

RamSelect workshops will run through September and October 2013 in the following locations:

  • 17 September – Blackall Showgrounds: hosted by Rick and Jenny Keogh, Terrick Merino Stud
  • 19 September – Longreach Pastoral College: hosted by Pat and Sue Hegarty, Colanya Poll Merino Stud
  • 10 October – Goondiwindi Showgrounds: hosted by Chris and Meryl Rubie, Sovereign Poll Dorsets
  • 11 October – Thallon: hosted by The Willis Family, Bullamon Plains
  • 23 October – Cunnamulla: hosted by Jesse and Michael Moody, Abbadoah Grass Merinos
  • 25 October – Quilpie: hosted by Rick and Jenny Keogh, Terrick Merino Stud
