Sheep CRC Scholarships

The Sheep CRC are offering three scholarships in the Graduate Certificate in Rural Science (Agricultural Consulting) to improve consultancy services to the sheep industry.
 
The Sheep CRC recognises that increasing complexity of new technology and the need for greater labour efficiency is resulting in producers increasingly requiring consultant services.
 
Eligibility
Candidates for the Graduate Certificate in Rural Science (Agricultural Consulting) are eligible to apply if one or more of the following apply:
 
1.     They currently provide consultancy services to the sheep industry and intend to continue.
2.     They are currently not providing consultancy services to the sheep industry but intend to do so in the future.
3.     Both of the elective units to be studied as part of the Graduate Certificate in Rural Science (Agricultural Consulting) come from the following list:
 
Wool Science and Sheep
·         WOOL472/572 Wool Biology and Metrology
·         WOOL422/522 Wool Marketing and Clip Preparation
·         WOOL482/582 Wool processing)
·         WOOL412/512 Sheep Production
·         ANUT300/500 Applied Animal Nutrition
·         GENE422/522 Genetic Evaluation and Breeding
·         ANPR350/450 Managing Sheep Enterprises
·         RSNR403/503 Sustainable Land Management

Sheep CRC scholarships are not available for students of the Diploma in Agriculture.
 
Scholarship amount
Each scholarship is $2000, which is $500 each for the four units. They are payable in arrears on successful completion of each unit. Three scholarships are on offer in January 2010.

Application for a Sheep CRC Scholarship – Graduate Certificate in Rural Science (Agricultural Consulting) must be completed on the downloadable form.

Applications must be emailed to the CSLT Unit Coordinator: Deborah Maxwell and must be received no later than 9.00am on Monday 25 January 2010.
